Aphex Releases IN2 – Two Channel Desktop Audio Interface

Looking to get into the quality two-channel computer audio interface market, Aphex has released the IN2. The IN2 looks to go head-to-head with the Apogee entry-level line up, as well as other brands who have found users who want to step up from some of the budget “sound cards” currently being offered for project studios.

The IN2 was designed to be an audio interface that provides integrated solutions. The Class A mic preamps provide plenty of clean gain for any microphone type and the optical compressors keep your dynamic range under control. The headphone amp claims to be loud and clear.

IN2 was designed with ease of use in mind, so all dedicated function buttons are located right on the front panel. There are no menus to scroll through. No breakout cables are used. All of the inputs and outputs are built right in to the device. It also features a 12V external power supply, rather than 5V USB buss power, allowing for more power to fuel the high performance Aphex technologies, and not put a drain on your computer’s internal power supply.

The S/PDIF input allows you to expand your inputs by connecting an outboard preamp or other digital sound source. Meanwhile, the S/PDIF output can be used to connect to an Aphex HeadPod4 should more headphone outputs be required. MIDI I/O is also included for connecting legacy keyboard controllers, MIDI Time Code (MTC) or MIDI Clock.
