Weekend Fun: Dog Tail Communicator
We know you’ve heard of BPM, but how about WPM?
James Auger and Jimmy Loizeau have developed The LED Dog Tail Communicator, a MOMA art project that focuses on “technological innovations which are equally appreciated and used by animals.”
Part of the larger Augmented Animals initiative, the LED Dog Tail Communicator measures a dog’s Wags Per Minute (WPM), and interprets the speed into short phrases that depict mood. How “accurate” the translations are is up for debate, but the concept of developing technology for animals and humans to utilize equally is provocative.
