Everything you need to make tracks on the fly is available at your fingertips. The Seqtrak features a drum machine, a sampler, synthesizers, a sequencer, and sound design tools. Seqtrak features two AWM2 (Advanced Wave Memory 2) sound engines with a 128-note polyphony and specializes in authentic sounds like pianos, strings, and guitars. The four-operator FM engine produces synth pads, leads, FM electric pianos, and the Seqtrak library contains over 2,000 presets.
Seqtrak’s sample allows you to capture your own sound samples and then provides seven sound slots and a variety of effects, allowing you to shape and transform your samples all in high-quality 44.1 kHz/16-bit format. The surprisingly advanced Sequencer allows for composition, arrangement, playback and control various parameters, such as tempo, swing, and track settings.

Yamaha dials the Seqtrak up with a dedicated Android/iOS app and the ability to edit Seqtrak’s action on a PC or Mac. The app has a simple graphic user interface that lets you quickly shape your sounds with precision. Editing includes a comprehensive set of functions, including envelopes, filters, and effect manipulation. Yamaha even added some savvy performance features allow you to create arrangements on-the-fly by combining Tracks and Patterns, remixing beats, and muting/unmuting Tracks in real-time. Control Seqtrak’s onboard processing in realtime while performing to add dimension and evolving effects.
Unlike the competition, Seqtrak has been designed from the ground up to be intuitive and easy to use the moment you open the box. Need additional presets? Launch the app and download new sounds immediately. The Seqtrak is battery powered (about 4 hours of runtime) and has a built-in speaker, so you have everything you need to make beats whereever you go. If any manufacturer knows how to create rich FM synthesis, it’s Yamaha. With its DX pedigree, even the dimunitive Seqtrak delivers beefy FM tones.

The Seqtrak app has a Visualizer mode that translates your tracks into a visual experience. With this free performance and production feature, you’ll bring your music to life with visuals that sync with your songs. Customize and tweak Patterns, motion effects and more, however you see fit. There’s even an Augmented Reality (AR) mode that allows you to integrate 3D virtual objects into real-world live videos.
