Eventide Announces UltraTap & MicroPitch Delay Pedals

Eventide has announced two new guitar pedals that will be available next month, the MicroPitch Delay and the UltraTap.

Eventide has some pretty flowery language to describe the MicroPitch Delay as your secret sauce: “Savor the secret sauce simmered into countless hit records with the MicroPitch Delay Pedal. By utilizing subtle pitch shifts to create a rich stereo spread, MicroPitch Delay makes anything you cook up sonically delectable. This pedal is the key ingredient for serving up flavorful tone: Instantly harness soaring leads that jump out of the mix, add distinct lushness to a compelling clean passage and get your fill of vibey modulation that’s sure to sweeten any pot with the push of a button. Sample a bite of our newly baked up Positive and Negative Envelope modulation sources and you’ll be sure to come back for seconds; and major and minor thirds. MicroPitch Delay adds unparalleled dimension to any source; it’s not just a guitar pedal—Use it to thicken vocals, keyboards, drums, strings, brass, winds and more.”

Eventide MicroPitch Delay

Eventide MicroPitch Delay Guitar Pedal

Experience the iconic effect that originated with the legendary H910 and H949 Harmonizers, and later popularized with the H3000, now in a standalone pedal. You can think of its sonic profile as dual pitch-shifters with fine-resolution de-tuning and modulation combined with delay that can be utilized for chorusing and repeating delays.

EVH

If you want to replicate the early Eddie Van Halen sound, this is your shortcut. The MicroPitch Delay is effective whether used subtlety as a thickening tone-enhancer or dialed to the extremes for special effects.

Dual-action Active Footswitch is latching or momentary

Eventide UltraTap

Eventide UltraTap Delay Guitar Pedal

UltraTap is a multi-tap effect pedal capable of rhythmic delays, glitchy reverbs, pad-like volume swells, and extraordinary modulation. It’s the perfect tool for staccato leads, swelling chords, evolving effects and reversed reverbs. Eventide wants you to “think of UltraTap as the mother of all Echoplexes and you won’t be too far off.” That’s basically how it operates, but with the flexibility to add as many tape heads’as you want and expressively control their positions and levels.

The Mother Of All Echoplexes

UltraTap’s controls make possible new and unexpected effects. The controls that you would expect in a multi-tap delay pedal, including Number of Taps, Delay and Feedback are all there, but it also has controls for Spread, Slurm, and Chop open up a new world of possibilities. The UltraTap allows Eventide to enter the burgeoning boutique guitar effects pedal arena with a more experimental offering to appear to the market currently occupied by Chase Bliss, Death By Audio, and others. However, as many of our readers know, adding one of these unique approaches to effects to your synth rig can turn the mundane into the extraordinary. Not convinced? We have the Hologram Microcosm in for review and we’ve been blown away at what this pedal can achieve.
