Moog Introduces Little Phatty Synth

Moog’s hand-built Little Phatty is a brand new monophonic analog synthesizer featuring 2 Ultra-stable Oscillators, 1 Low Pass Classic Moog Ladder Filter, 4-Stage Analog Envelope Generators, and 100 user editable presets. The Little Phatty contains a 100 percent analog signal path, a 37-note keyboard with +/-2 Octave Transpose, and Moog’s proprietary Real Analog Control (RAC). RAC is a proprietary technology enabling the performer to directly interface with the analog circuitry via the knobs on the control panel, without any digital processing.

Little Phatty was designed with portability, expressive and intuitive playability, and the timeless quality only found in a Moog. “We wanted to offer musicians a true analog synth with a simple, clean front panel, in a visually stunning package, at a reasonable price point. I feel we accomplished all four objectives,” states Mike Adams, Moog Music President.

Moog will initially release a special, limited edition run of 1,200 individually numbered Bob Moog Tribute Edition synths which feature special Moog wood side panels, a Bob Moog signature plate across the front and rear, and some Bob Moog keepsakes. The Little Phatty measures 26.75″ X 14.75″ X 6.75″ and weighs in at 22lb. It will be available sometime this summer at $1475. For more information and to order directly hit MoogMusic.com

The Future: The name-challenged “Little Phatty” is the first product that Moog Music is releasing since Bob’s passing. Hopefully the sexy, sleek design and fat sound will eclipse it’s dopey name.
