Technics Officially Dead
Panasonic officially announced that they are discontinuing their Technics division. We’ve heard chatter that this had already occurred within the Japanese concern in January of this year, but now it’s official.
Apparently, Panasonic has sold over 3.5 million 1200s to date since its introduction in 1972, but sales have dropped off substantially. In fact, sales of 1200s today only amount to 5 percent of the total sales figure from ten years ago. Not good.
