EMI Contemplating Sale Of Recorded Music Division
Looking to reverse falling profits and save over £100 million a year, EMI’s Board is considering selling or demerging its recorded music division as part of a massive overhaul. Such a sale would leave the company with its more profitable music publishing arm, which owns the copyright to more than one million songs.
EMI Appoints Sly Bailey – Senior Independent Director
The EMI Group has appointed newspaper executive Sly Bailey as Senior Independent Director, succeeding John Gildersleeve, who recently became the music company’s chairman.
