Sim’n Tonic and Reliq Instruments, two of the most innovative companies in Europe, have announced U-SYNC 2.0.
The new version of their proprietary clocking technology, which is included with Nome II and Reliq, keeps clock jitter below a single audio sample between DAWs and hardware. U-SYNC 2.0 offers new features such as latency auto-detection and support for multiple U-SYNC-native devices. This means that users can connect two Nomes or a Nome and a Reliq and set individual latency parameters for each of them. Users can also save their configuration as a preset and reuse it in every session.

U-SYNC 2.0 also comes with full support for Windows, bringing reliable sync via a simple USB cable, rather than the traditional audio sync track method.

“We are very proud of successfully delivering U-SYNC for Windows. While making it was a much more complicated task than anticipated, we enjoyed the challenge and are happy that now both macOS and Windows users can benefit from U-SYNC,” says Simon Lasnier, founder of Sim’n Tonic.
U-SYNC 2.0 brings jitter down to under 0.05 µs (microseconds), or around 400× shorter than a single audio sample at 48 kHz.
“We wanted to make sync a solved issue for musicians,” says Kyriakos Charalampides, Co-founder of Reliq Instruments. “With U-SYNC 2.0, users set it up once, save the preset and forget about syncing their gear ever again.”
