Korg has premiered the MPS-10, a new percussion controller and looper. Getting beyond the over-the-top marketing copy on their website — there’s no press release or substantial video demo — we can tell you that it contains 10 pads, an onboard sampler, four CC pads, and a four-track looper, plus an external trigger input, footswitch compatibility, and an expression jack.
With a collection of 2,350 assignable Instruments (INST pads) and more than 3000 quality samples, the MPS-10’s sounds range from expressive instrument tones and nuanced variations based on your strike’s intensity, to the essential electric instrument sounds that Korg claims to drive so much modern drumming – OK Boomer. Classical percussion includes congas, bongos, and other acoustic drums. The MPS-10 is said to have 48-voice polyphony and 200 curated kits, as well as 100 onboard effects.
