Waldorf Music has announced the Iridium Core, a compact synthesizer variant of its Iridium product line. This small form factor synthesizer features a 12-voice polyphony and retains patch compatibility with other Iridium variants, Quantum, and Quantum MK2.
Iridium Core comes in a durable all-metal enclosure, measuring 346 mm (W) x 200 mm (D) x 64 mm (H) and weighing 2.2 kg, making it easily portable. The synthesizer incorporates the complete Iridium synth engine, offering three oscillators and five synthesis models, along with dual digital filters, modulation matrix, effects section, audio recorder, spectrum analyzer, and oscilloscope.

Iridium Core is patch-compatible with all Iridium and Quantum variants
The synthesizer boasts a 1024 x 600 touch screen with an intuitive user interface for quick parameter adjustments. It includes over 1,700 factory presets and samples, as well as a pad matrix and six programmable MACRO buttons for performance control. Additionally, Iridium Core features four user-definable potentiometers for modulation.
Iridium Core is patch-compatible with all Iridium and Quantum variants and receives future firmware updates as part of the Waldorf Synthesis Platform OS. It offers MIDI In and Out connections, CV inputs, CLOCK In and Out connections, stereo audio inputs and outputs, a headphone output with volume control, USB ports for MIDI and storage, a MicroSD Card slot, and a DC In 12V / 3A power input.
Iridium Core seamlessly integrates into various live performance and studio setups, connecting with computers, controller keyboards, drum machines, modular synths, sequencers, and more.
