API has unveiled the ASM164, a 16-channel summing analog mixer in a 19-inch rack format. With a design based on the summing section of The Box Console, API claims the ASM164 is designed for professional project studios, home studios, and production facilities of all kinds.

Unfortunately, API hasn’t provided much in terms of details on their new product. Strange, since they probably dedicated a lot of resources into developing the ASM164, but couldn’t be troubled by providing a serious press release. The did provide a feature set – see below.
API’s President, Larry Droppa, did provide this nugget: “As we continue to enjoy success with THE BOX we recognize that many customers simply don’t have the space for a console. The new ASM164 offers the summing power you need with all the API tone you’d expect. Additionally, convenient features like the 0dB and inserts on every channel make this a great addition to your workflow.”
