The collaboration between PWM and the late Chris Huggett, the Mantis, a duophonic hybrid-analog synth, is finally ready for its close-up. Taking inspiration from vintage synths, such as the Wasp and OSCar, the Mantis adds modern technology and is more performance focused.

Mantis contains two independent voices (Duo-phonic) that are born from mathematically-generated, digital oscillators and then processed through an entirely analog signal path and then feed into a digital effects section. Mantis employs a proprietary PWM DSP chip and while there are two oscillators per voice, PWM did add a sub-oscillator for more girth.
The Mantis has a dynamic VCF design, developed by Huggett and is based on the SSI2164 VCA chipset.

The multi-mode filters in each voice can be simultaneously controlled in series or parallel configurations with the width control from the OSCar. Being part digital, the Mantis contains MIDI CC control over all parameters for massive tweaking with your DAW.
