Analogue Solutions has debuted the Ample, a three-oscillator Analog Synthesizer made for the desktop with a retro / vintage sound. Ample is a desktop-friendly synthesizer that mixes the best features from their past products in a more consumer friendly manner. In an interesting twist, the steel and aluminum case has a VESA pattern on the back for mounting it to a TV Wall mount or a monitor stand/arm. A cool idea that other desktop synth / groovebox manufacturers should consider.

Analogue Solutions Specs:
- Ample combines the best elements of » The sound elements of Fusebox > Jack patch points of Concussor Eurorack > Patch pin matrix of Vostok > Echo from Dr Strangelove > Sequencer and CV touch pads of Generator
- 3 Analog Oscillators » each providing a wealth of features and modulation choices. VCO3 can easily be utilized as a LFO.
- Two Analog Low Frequency Oscillators » LFO2 (/Sync) has a triangle wave output. VCO3 can be used as an LFO and has Saw, Triangle and Square wave modulation signals.
- Analog Filter » Ample uses a four pole 24bB per octave low pass filter.
- Analog Amplifier » The VCA can be set to THRU so it is always open. This allows Ample to be used as an effects processor.
- Two Analog Envelopes » There are two EGs – each having full control over ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN, and RELEASE.
- Sequencer » Ample has a vintage style 16 step sequencer.
- Touch Keys » There are 6 touch keys that each output a set voltage. Use this to play the pitch or as modulation signals.
- Pin Matrix » A cool way to patch the synth.
- Echo » Lo-fi echo / delay built-in.
- Patchable External CV Control Sockets » Ample has many input and output audio and CV sockets – to allow the synth to be effectively re-wired to make new sounds. The sockets also enable it to be easily used with Eurorack and other modular systems. They can be patched together.
Ample is a compact analog synthesizer. Aside from the MIDI chip (which has to be digital), everything else is totally analog using real transistors and op-amps. There are no CPU stabilized and quantized circuits, no DCOs, no digital LFOs and no digital EGs, as found on other so called analogue synths. The circuitry is based on designs dating back to the mid-1970s. So Ample has a genuine old sound.

Ample Can Be Used As A Drum Synthesizer
Ample combines the best parts of past products, like the sound from Fusebox and the drum modules from Concussor. There’s also a pin matrix from the Vostok series, an echo from Dr. Strangelove, and a sequencer from Generator. Ample also features a 16-bit DAC for stable MIDI to CV conversion.
Ample has its own sound, thanks to its three oscillators and modulation options. The filter section gives it a cool effect, and you can use it as a drum synthesizer too. It’s versatile, meaning you can use it for various types of sounds. You can play with Ample using an external keyboard or computer, or you can use its built-in sequencer and touch plates. It’s great for creating different sounds, from effects to bass and leads.
