Erica Synths Announces DB-01 Bassline

Erica Synths has announced their own take on the legendary Roland TB-303 Bassline. Dubbed the DB-01 Bassline mono synthesizer, Erica’s version takes the gnarly LP/BP filter design from the Acidbox. The DB-01 employs the Erica Synths signature sound engine and adds a sequencer.

As you can hear from the demo above, the DB-01 has a distinctly different, albeit biting, sound than the famed “greasy” 303. The DB utilizes the Polivoks’ synth engine, designed by Vladimir Kuzmi, and noteworthy for it’s switchable dual-mode band pass / low pass filter. Whether this will appeal to the market that’s been infatuated lately by Behringer’s 303 clone, or have their viable dollars vacuumed up by the new Korg WaveState or the ASM Hydrasynth, has yet to be determined, but they’ll have a few months to make that decision.

Erica Synths DB-01 Bassline costs €460 and will be available sometime this spring.
