Electrix Announces Tweaker – Performance USB Controller
Mixware, owners of the Electrix brand name, has announced Tweaker, a new performance controller for Abelton and Traktor. Mixware was founded in 2008 by Gerard and Laurent Cohen, original founders of the Stanton GroupFor Sale!, which includes KRK and Cerwin Vega. After selling Stanton to a group of investors lead by the UK’s Mezzanine group, the Cohen’s launched Mixware.
Mainly a distributor, Mixware also features several brands including EKS, Reloop, UDG, Decksaver, and Magma. After acquiring the rights to Electrix, the brothers Cohen are working to relaunching the brand with the Ebox-44 audio interface and the Tweaker MIDI controller.
At the heart of Tweaker lies a grid of 32 rubber pads backlit by RGB LEDs, and 8 velocity sensitive drum pads. There is a channel strip on each side of the grid, and a crossfader centered underneath. Each channel trips is comprised of a fader, three backlit rubber pads, an analog knob, and three push encoders with red LED rings. The navigation section at the top of the unit has a large browsing encoder and a four-way selection push grid (left, right, up, down). Tweaker is fully USB bus powered and also has MIDI In and Out ports.
