Weekend Fun: Making Waves
The lake at Waimea Bay fills up due to the abundant rain during the Winter months eventually causing some bad flooding along the roads. As part of the natural process of relieving the swelling, a river eventually emerges from the lake and heads towards the ocean. In order to facilitate the process, and have a lot of fun, the locals dig a trench to the ocean to create their own wave pool.
