Alfredo Duarte Showcases LUM Concept
Alfredo A. Duarte Jorquera, a native of Chile, employed the Sony PS3 Move controller to create an interesting paradigm for musical performance. Dubbed the LUM, Alfredo utilizes two domed light sources which can manipulate sound based on three dimensions.
Each axis is given a parameter, X = pitch, Y = loudness and Z = effects and the PS3 “translates the position in space (xyz) of luminous spheres in to sound.”
The two controllers incorporate two different colored LEDs, each one activated by different buttons, allowing the user to handle 2 instruments simultaneously.
