Rhapsody & Haier Unveil Wi-Fi Ibiza Digital Music Player
About a month ago, Rhapsody unveiled it’s own portable music player, the Ibiza Rhapsody, to very little fanfare. The Wi-Fi enabled device debuted in a 30 GB hard drive model, but will also be available in 4GB and 8GB Flash players in the near future.
The player, manufactured by Haier America, hasn’t made much of an impact on the market. Rhapsody has also teamed with AOL Video to deliver additional content for the device, but that hasn’t stimulated sales. Haier had hoped that teaming with Rhapsody was the best way to position their players in the US market, but Wi-Fi alone won’t ring up sales, just ask Microsoft.
