Apple Announces iPhone Will Go On Sale In The UK On November 9th Via O2
Apple has announced that the iPhone will go on sale in the UK on November 9th on the O2 network, a division of Spain’s Telefonica carrier. The iPhone will initially retail for £269, and have a three-tier monthy fee structure of £35, £45 and £55.
The UK iPhone will reportedly not be subsidized by O2, since Apple does not want the mobile to interfere with the company’s recent rollout of updated iPods. This does not mean Apple won’t cut the price, like they did just three months after its introduction in the US market, but it does let them cash in on European technolust just in time for the holiday shopping season.
The Future: Apple will announce similar deals with France Telecom’s Orange and Germany’s Deutsche Telekom by the end of the month.
