What’s Up With Eventide?

FutureMusic got the opportunity to check in with effects maker Eventide, who recently announced their new SP1206 Reverb. We had a chance to receive a brief demo of the plug-in with its Unique Position control, which allows users to tailor the reverb in 3D – from behind the listener all the way to the stage – while retaining all of their other settings. The sound signature is well suited for vocals and guitar, is very simple to use and is definitely worth a listen. (Look for our full review in the near future — Ed.)
Eventide H9000 module upgrade FutureMusic
Spending some quality time with the company’s flagship effect processor, H9000, we came away smiling at the stellar results that this powerhouse can achieve without breaking a sweat. In fact, it can run 16 simultaneous heavy duty algorithms. Feed a guitar into the Wormhole patch and you can easily lose hours creating insane ambient washes. While plunking down $7000 may give you pause, its quad-core ARM processors are upgradeable. As new, more powerful ARM chips become available, the H9000’s DSP modules can simply be swapped out for the latest offerings. With the current crop of processors, the H9000 is eight times more powerful than the H8000FW, and 16 times more powerful than Eventide’s awesome H9 stompbox.
Eventide Eurorack H9 module FutureMusic
On the Eurorack front, Eventide’s EuroDDL Delay is selling quite well. So much so that the company is set to debut a new module, which combines a harmonic octave generator and a sequencer in a single unit. The company hopes to premier the new unit at NAMM with full release sometime in the middle of 2019. Could we see a EuroH9 next?

Considering Eventide’s small staff, the company has several new concepts they are entertaining on both the plug-in front and hardware, and are diligently working to get these into your grubby paws.
