Fluid Audio has premiered the FPX (Fader Pro Coax) line of monitors. The first entry in this new lineup is the FPX7,
featuring Class AB amplifiers, a toroidal transformer, optimized composite cone woofers and AMT tweeters.
What makes the FPX7 unique is that the AMT tweeter is mounted in the center of the woofer – in a coaxial configuration. Coaxial drivers claim to provide enhanced accuracy and detail due to all of the frequencies radiate from the exact same position. Fluid feels this is critical for accurate off-axis response, as well as phase coherence. The AMT tweeter is mounted to a custom designed waveguide, which provides it with wide dispersion and an wide sweet spot. The complex, DSP controlled crossover provides a blending of the woofer to the AMT tweeter, and ensures that there is effectively zero variance speaker-to-speaker.
