RIAA Spent $2.8 Million Lobbying US Government In 2007

According to reports, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) spent $2.8 million “persuading” US legislators on promoting their agenda in 2007.

The record industry trade group spent $659,000 in the first half of 2007, and then really kicked it into high gear with an additional $2.1 million paid out for lobbying efforts in the second half of 2007, according to a form posted online by the Senate’s public records office. Lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches, under a federal law enacted in 1995.
