PSP Audioware Upgrades Mixpack To Version 2
PSP Audioware has upgraded Mixpack to version 2 for Mac and PC. PSP MixPack2 updates both the usability and the processing algorithms of the original PSP MixPack plug-ins, and adds, PSP MixGate2, an new processor. The total bundle now includes, PSP MixBass2, PSP MixTreble2, PSP MixSaturator2, PSP MixPressor2 and PSP MixGate2.
PSP MixPack2 is a collection of five high-resolution, quality audio processors designed to improve the grade of your digital audio tracks and mixes. These processors were not modeled on specific hardware analog processors, but rather on the sound and features of many analog circuits, with the goal of designing processors that can assist you in taming the sterility and harshness that often plagues digitally recorded audio.
PSP MixGate2 is a high precision noise gate that is fully configurable and can operate fast enough for special effects (such as “stuttering audio”) and smoothly enough to gate unwanted noise without sounding artificial. PSP MixGate2 includes both high and low pass filters so as to tailor the control signal. By filtering out unwanted frequencies, you can ensure that only the desired frequency can trigger the gate.
PSP claims these plug-ins are of high enough quality to be at home in mastering or live tracking situations as well. All plug-ins utilize 64-bit double precision floating point algorithms throughout their entire signal path and support sample rates of up to 192kHz. The kit consists of: PSP MixBass2, PSP MixTreble2. PSP MixSaturator2, PSP MixPressor2 and PSP MixGate2.
PSP MixPack2 is available for both Mac OSX and Windows: VST and RTAS for Windows; AudioUnit, VST and RTAS for MacOSX UniversalBinary. The OSX version is Universal Binary so the plug-in can now be used on both PowerPC and new Intel-based Macintosh computers.
PSP Audioware’s Mixpack2 costs $199. Registered owners of the original PSP MixPack can score the new bundle for the discounted price of $49 until May 1st, 2008. After this date the upgrade price will be increased up to $79. Demos are available. More information on PSP Audioware Mixpack2.
