Rayzoon Announces Jamstix 2
Rayzoon Technologies has announced the upcoming release of Jamstix 2, their virtual drummer plug-in. Jamstix is a VSTi drummer that can jam with you like a human, instead of a computer. The plug-in analyzes MIDI input as well as audio input (with limitations) in real-time and develops rhythms and adjusts parameters instantaneously, giving you the feel of playing with a human drummer, sans the flatulence problem.
Jamstix’s Limb-Priority-Control ensures that the output is at all times playable by a human drummer so you can layer rhythms and fills and accents as you wish and never have to worry about whether the result sounds realistic. The realistic drumming is enhanced with features such as velocity variance, auto-cymbals, random accents, probable notes and automatic switch rules, such as ride over hihat on high velocity, sidestick over snare on low velocity, no-ghosting on low velocity and more.

Integrated VSTi sub-hosting allows usage of any VSTi drum synthesizer, such as BFD, DFHS, EZDrummer and Addictive Drums. Combine the sounds of your favorite drum plug-in with the jam power and realism of Jamstix. You can also create kits that use a mix of external sounds and Jamstix 2 sounds. For example, you can built a kit that uses EZDrummer drums and Jamstix 2 percussion sounds and cymbals.
Jamstix can interact with your MIDI or audio input by adjusting velocity and using play rules, such as hihat/ride switching and snare head/sidestick switching as well as rhythm reduction giving you the feel of playing with a human drummer.
Jamstix can import your existing MIDI drum grooves, as well as Jamstix 1 rhythms and use them as styles for playing by the drummer models. This means a static 1-bar MID file groove comes to live by being played with the feel, accents and fills of the Jamstix 2 virtual drummers.
Rayzoon Technologies’ Jamstix 2 will be released on August 20th for $99 for the Standard version and $139 for Jamstix 2 XL. Jamstix 1 owners can upgrade for $40 / $49.
