Hooj Choons Label Set For Comeback

You can’t keep a good label down. After a 3 year hiatus Hooj Choons has announced a full scale return in early 2007.

So says the Hooj Choons website. One of the more influential progressive house labels folded in 2003, when the genre had run its course in the UK and fallen out of flavor in the clubs. But now the label is set for a return, and has begun releasing its back catalog on Beatport. According to Hooj, “As a taster for the first fully new releases we present some exclusive new mixes and unreleased material. HOOJ137 to HOOJ142 will be exclusively available 1 per week from Mid October 2006 on Beatport.com.”

The first official new release will be Medway’s “Resurrection” with “new” mixes from Chris & Kai and Delikate Imposters and an Ambient version.
