../ Music Choice Announces Warner, Cingular Deal
Music Choice, known primarily through it's uninspired cable music
channels, stated that it has reached a deal with Warner
Music to provide Cingular Wireless
customers with 99 cent music videos.
The new offering will feature a streaming music video-on-demand
service where Cingular customers can continuously watch a variety of pre-selected music videos from Warner Music over a 24-hour
period for 99 cents per video.
This compliments the mobile radio service that Cingular Wireless introduced last January utilizing about 40 channels of
commercial-free music from Music Choice and MobiTV Inc.'s streaming media service.
A premium subscription service offering a wider slection of pop, rock
and hip-hop videos and a weekly program about new releases hitting stores that week will also be available.
The Future: Music Choice
is finally attempting to bring its lackluster technology into the new millennium. By opening new offices in New York City and
ushering in tech savvy employees, Music Choice is seeking to position itself as a content supplier to the emerging multimedia
mobile market. The Cingular deal moves them in the right direction, but they should also focus on their core offering by enhancing
the visual aspect of their cable channels.
