Radiohead Inks Download Deal With 7digital

Radiohead has inked a deal with 7digital to feature most of its catalog on the U.K. digital download service, who has been making news lately with exclusive content agreements.

EMI, the band’s former label, reached an accord with 7digital for “OK Computer” and “The Bends” but only full album downloads will be offered, not individual tracks. The albums will be sold without Digital Rights Management (DRM).

Radiohead does have a handful of songs on iTunes that were included on various soundtracks or compilations, but refused to offer their music as single song downloads.

The Future: 7digital is on a tear lately scoring high-profile, exclusive content including Pink Floyd’s catalog, and over 20 Rolling Stones albums. The company is obvioulsy offering the bands special deals and perhaps even upfront advances. But have they gone so far as to offer equity?
