Toneworxx – Rainer & Grimm’s Toronto House Sample Pack Review

Toneworxx recently released Rainer & Grimm’s Toronto House sample pack on PrimeLoops. Toronto-based, Rainer & Grimm, scored a UK radio hit with a remix of Sam Smith’s Stay With Me, which brought them to the attention of Toneworxx HQ who were looking to release a Deep & Techy House sample set. The pack comes with 233 MB of 24 bit WAV files, which includes bassline loops, heavily-processed vocal snippets, one shots, effects and MIDI action.
Toneworxx Rainer & Grimm Toronto House Sample Review
Features:
» 24 bit WAV files
» 15 Bass Loops
» 32 Synth Loops
» 35 Drum Loops
» 32 Drum One Shots
» 19 Synth One Shots
» 15 Vocal Samples
» 8 FX Samples
» 26 MIDI Files

Unfortunately, Rainer & Grimm are new to the sample game and the loops lack the visceral energy needed for minimal tech and deep tracks. The Vocal samples are especially weak with only a vowel or two and a couple of overly processed words. The kicks, if normalized and combined with other samples may have trace value, and the MIDI files may provide some inspiration, but for $24, you don’t get a lot of bang for your buck. Not Recommended.
