Paul’s Extreme Sound Stretch – Free Windows / Linux Program For Stretching Audio Up To 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 Times
Paul’s Extreme Sound Stretch is a free, open-source, Windows/Linux program for drastically stretching audio to oppressive durations. It is suitable only for extreme sound stretching of the audio (like 50x) and for applying special effects by “spectral smoothing” the sounds. It can transform any sound/music to a texture for ambient soundscapes.
When Paul says extreme time stretching, he means it. You can stretch 3 minutes of audio to 3 hours (…and beyond. Way beyond. We’re talking days here kids! —Ed.)
» High quality extreme sound stretching. The stretch amount is almost unlimited…
» Realtime playback of stretched sound.(including the possibility to “freeze” the sound)
» Render the whole sound or a part of it to separate audio files
» Post-processing effects: filters, pitch/frequency shifters
» Support for WAV, OGG VORBIS files and MP3 files
» Three stretch modes:”Stretch” – stretch up to 10,000 times; “HyperStretch” – stretch up to 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times (10^18); “Shorten” – reduces the length of the sound
Paul’s Extreme Sound Stretch is released under the version 2 of the General Public License and donations are accepted.
UPDATE: Paul tells us that a chap has ported Extreme Sound Stretch to the Mac!
