Mixed In Key Announces 2nd Annual Harmonic Mixing DJ Contest

Mixed In Key has launched their second annual Harmonic Mixing DJ contest. DJs around the world are invited to showcase their skills in a 10-15 minute mix that will be judged by some of the top talents in the industry. The winner and the runner-up will receive DJ packages worth more than $6,000 in combined retail value.

The First Place winner will receive:
» A pair of Event Opal 750-Watt Active Monitor speakers
» A copy of Serato Scratch Live
» A copy of Ableton Live 8 Suite
» Lifetime licenses for all Mixed In Key products, current and future
» A Rane SL 3 Audio Interface
» A $250 Gift certificate from Beatport
» A $250 Gift certificate from Traxsource
» Ableton and Serato’s “The Bridge” Technology

The Runner-up will receive:
» An Allen & Heath Xone:DX MIDI Controller
» A copy of Serato ITCH software
» Beatport gift certificate for $150

» DJ Enferno, Turntablist and Madonna’s tour DJ
» High Contrast, Drum-and-Bass maestro from the United Kingdom
» Jonas Tempel, founder and innovator of Beatport.com
» Karl Detken, Pioneer US Landlord
» Kaskade, House music producer and DJ from the United States
» Markus Schulz, Trance pioneer based in Miami
» Pete Tong, host of Essential Mix and Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1

» Yakov Vorobyev, Mr. Vorobyev, if you’re nasty, founder of Mixed In Key

Contest details:
1) Entry deadline: November 25, 2010
2) The mix has to be 100% harmonic
3) Judging criteria: The mix must inspire listeners to become fans of that music genre, take the listener on a journey, and showcase innovation in harmonic mixing (all in 15 minutes). Bonus points will be awarded for original choice of tunes and complex transitions, build-ups and break-downs.
