Pioneer Announces CDJ-850 Multimedia Player
Pioneer has unveiled the entry-level CDJ-850 multimedia player. The 850 is the most affordable multimedia player in Pioneer’s line and contains several features from the unit’s bigger brother.
In addition to the large 206 mm jog dial, the CDJ-850 inherits the layout of the professional series and its ease of use, including the rotary selector, browse buttons and other useful functions. Its closeness to the operability of the pro series will please every home DJ. The CDJ-850 is compatible with the MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF formats recorded on USB storage devices or CD-R/RW discs.
Once installed on a PC, rekordbox allows the home DJ to analyze music files and manage them (make settings, create and edit playlists and save histories) in a way optimized for DJ play. Analyzes data such as the Wave, Beat Grid, BPM, and ID3 Tag*2 of music files Cue and Loop*3 settings Creating and editing playlists Saving the history of music files played on the CDJ-850.
When music files and their associated management data is saved with rekordbox and exported onto a USB storage device, they can be accessed by the multi-player even when it is not connected to a PC and thus DJ with the music files using the analysis and management data. As play histories are automatically recorded onto the USB storage device, the sequence of Music File Analysis & Settings->DJ Performance->Prepare for Next Play becomes a snap.
The GUI, which makes music file info, such as title, artist, and BPM easy to view, and the rotary selector combine for quick music selection. The WAVE display smoothes out DJ play because it allows the DJ to grasp the flow and dynamics of the whole song.
The CDJ-850 comes with our Tag List function, which allows a song to be easily registered with just the press of a button while playing or selecting a song, so a list of songs to be played next can be created. Further, the order of songs in the Tag List can be changed and the list can be saved as a playlist in rekordboxTM.
