Armin Van Buuren Announces New Wii DJ Game

Foreign Media Games and Armin van Buuren have announced a new DJ game for the Wii slated for debut this Fall entitled, wait for it, wait for it… Armin Van Buuren’s In The Mix – The Ultimate DJ Experience. Now when someone dubs something “The Ultimate…” you have to be wary. The game reportedly allows players to “experience for themselves what it is like to be a DJ like Armin, mixing electronic dance music and interacting with the audience.” (Where’s the schlepping of gear? Endless airports? Security checkpoints? Dodgy promoters? Slutty girls with the latest STD’s? Intoxicated punters bumping into your turntables? Trainspotters drooling on your shoulder? And so on… — Ed.)
The game will contain many of Armin van Buuren’s music masters and features artists he often works with. To make the experience complete, Armin will also include unique, never before released material in the Wii game. Players can use the available effects, loops and individual parts to mix music. Wii functionality will be optimally utilised to maximise the music mixing experience.

No mention of utilizing the Wii’s motion controllers, so why the Nintendo platform? This sounds more promising than Paul Van Dyk’s pathetic Virtual Glow Stick App, at least on paper, but if you’re into DJing, why waste your time playing a game? Grab some DJ mixing software, and get into the real game!
