EMI Names Elio Leoni-Sceti — Chief Of Recorded Music Unit

EMI has hired Elio Leoni-Sceti to be the chief executive of its recorded music division. Leoni-Sceti will take the reins on October 1st. Born in Rome, Mr. Leoni-Sceti currently serves as an executive vice president at Reckitt Benckiser, which owns brands including Lysol and Woolite.

Leoni-Sceti stated that he believed that understanding music consumers was crucial to turning around the company. (Well that’s good start Elio, but you’ve got your work cut out for you… –Ed.)
