Music Sales Plunge 11% During First Half Of 2008

Music sales have dropped 11% during the first half of 2008 according to Nielsen SoundScan. CD sales are to blame due to continued music store closings and reduced self space at major retailers across the United States. However, sales of vinyl albums are up: 803,000 have been sold in 2008 as opposed to 454,000 in ’07.
