Serato Updates Scratch Live To Version 1.8.1

Serato Audio Research has updated Scratch Live to version 1.8.1. Normally, we don’t report on secondary updates, but this version now supports hardware controllers from Denon and Numark, which will certainly appeal to owners of these products. For the most part, 1.8.1 is a maintenance release to improve performance and stability.

Enhancements:
» Support for Denon HC-4500
» Support for Denon HD-2500
» Support for Numark DMC2
» USB performance increase
» Improved iTunes Library support & bug fixes
» MIDI controllers now respect the ‘lock playing deck’ option
» Back-spin now works correctly on the Numark iCDX
» Offline Player
» Deck and playback controls
» Library Crates and Tracklist
» Preferences and setup options
» Improved Video-SL integration
» Improved Loop BPM Display

When looping, the deck BPM counter now adjusts the displayed BPM to fit the exact length of the loop. It assumes that the number of beats in the loop is a “power of 2”, for example 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 etc. You can use this feature to match a loop of “ambient noise” to a beat playing on the other deck so that they loop in time.
