Modartt Releases Yamaha CP-80 Model For Pianoteq

Modartt is now offering a free instrument add-on to current owners of their Pianoteq software, a virtual Yamaha CP-80. The electro-acoustic grand piano was a very popular stage piano from 1976 to 1985, with a unique sound and with an authentic grand piano action.

The CP-80 was marketed by Yamaha as a touring friendly and electronically amplified variant of a grand piano. It was famous for its rock solid quality and considered by many as the ‘Rolls Royce’ of the electro-acoustic pianos, until a new generation of smaller and lighter digital sampled pianos entered the market. The add-on offers two versions of the CP-80:

CP-80 original – which is an attempt to be as close as possible to the original recorded instrument
CP-80 Restored which is an attempt to provide a pseudo restoration of the instrument reviving the “worn string sound” which lacked the brilliance from brand new strings

Modartt’s Yamaha CP-80 Instrument Add-on For Pianoteq is free to registered users. More information on Modartt Yamaha CP-80 instrument add-on For Pianoteq.
