Basis Audio Unveils $150,000 Work Of Art Turntable

Basis Audio has done it. They have created one of the most expensive turntables ever. For $150,000 (Yes, that’s three zeros after the 150 —Ed.), you can own what Basis describes as the “Work Of Art” turntable.

Basis claims The Work of Art is the “ultimate statement of precision, performance, and the art of analog playback” — well, for 150 large it better be! The turntable is sculpted from solid billet pieces using precision machining of the materials without utilzing molds. Even the polishing of the four-inch thick acrylic subchassis has its own proprietary process.

Audiophiles usually prefer the sound quality of vinyl over digital sources, so not only does Basis utilize what they believe to be the finest materials constructed by the best craftsmen, but The Work Of Art also incorporates a self-contained Resonance Annihilator, which is a fancy name for a device that controls vibration. “The vibrational energy is neutralized by being transformed into heat energy, which is then efficiently dissipated.” Beam me up Scotty!

The Basis Audio Work Of Art turntable will set you back a mere $150,000. More information on the Basis Audio Work Of Art turntable.
