Denon DJ Announces DN-HC4500 Dualie USB MIDI/Audio Controller

Denon DJ has announced the DN-HC4500, an USB MIDI/Audio interface and controller designed exclusively for computer performance by club and mobile DJs. The PC/MAC compatible controller combines hardware performance with internal high-quality audio processing and low latency ASIO support. Notably, it provides DJs with the exclusive flexibility to control Denon’s optional BU4500 dual CD/MP3 player for simultaneous 4-player configuration, and comes bundled an LE trial version of PCDJ’s new software, Reflex that offers an array of new features.

Features:
• Internal 24-Bit Processing and USB Audio
• BU4500 Drive Support
• Multi Functional Touch Sensitive Jog Disc
• Vibrant Tube Display w/ 2-line Character Text Support
• Highly Responsive Soft Rubber Buttons, Switches and Knobs
• High Speed USB 2.0 Interface

The Denon DN-HC4500 offers support of both PC and Mac platforms, and features internal 24-Bit Processing and USB Audio. Unlike most DJ midi controllers that are only USB bus powered, the DN-HC4500 encompasses its own internal power supply to achieve the highest electrical specifications for optimum performance at all times. Industry-leading Burr Brown 24-bit DAC processing affords superior output audio fidelity, and the unit’s USB Audio interface includes 2-Channel Stereo output pair, 44.1/48/96kHz sampling ranges and low latency ASIO / OSX Core Audio support.

The Denon BU4500 Drive, which is sold separately, is fully supported by the DN-HC4500, allowing DJ’s to continue playing from their CD collection (whenever required) while still controlling their favorite DJ software. The BU4500 can also be seen and used as a backup system without having to rewire a thing in the case of computer failure.

Among the DN-HC4500’s other advanced features is a Multi Functional Touch Sensitive Jog Disc constructed with a high-resolution pulse and touch sensor to accurately reproduce the most subtle or swift scratching movements made by the human hand. The Jog Disc can also be mapped to perform other vital functions too such as, pitch bending, scanning, file searching and dry/wet control for effects. In addition, a Vibrant Tube Display w/ 2-line Character Text Support offers two lines of character information, letting DJs quickly navigate through files, crates, folders and confirms without having to look up at their monitor. A visual 32-position Marker Point indicator follows hand movements at lighting speeds without drift. Other indicators include Looping, Hot Starts, BPM info, Elapsed/Remain Time, MP3/WAV file types, and other useable indicators.

Highly responsive soft rubber buttons, switches and knobs, plus 5 easily accessible function keys at top of each deck add to the DN-HC4500’s ease-of-use and utility, and 45mm pitch sliders are capable of providing deep resolution or wide pitch ranges. Other features include: 3 Track/Loop Players; Interactive Waveform Display; Support For Standard Digital Audio Formats; Sample-Accurate Cueing; Pitch Shifting and Tempo Shifting; Performance Recording; MIDI Control Over All Relevant Panel Elements and much more. The customizable GUI adds to the unit’s flexibility and convenience.

The DN-HC4500 is software upgradeable by USB, and from time to time Denon DJ will make subtle improvements to current features or add new compelling ones based on valuable user feedback. These new Plug Ins are always free and made available via the Denon DJ website.

The Denon DJ DN-HC4500 is scheduled to ship in late September for $499. More information on the Denon DJ DN-HC4500.
