Groove Mobile Supplying Mobile Music Download Data To Nielsen SoundScan

Groove Mobile is now reportinng global sales of mobile music downloads to Nielsen SoundScan. As of July 10, Nielsen SoundScan, the sales source for the Billboard music charts and many others, has included Groove’s mobile music purchase data in reporting comprehensive sales of the world’s key mass merchants and non-traditional outlets.

With this agreement, Groove Mobile will report sales of all music tracks to Nielsen SoundScan on a global basis in all the countries the company operates in and for any new deployments moving forward. This includes weekly music sales from its carrier business including Sprint in the US, 3 UK, Bell in Canada and also full track downloads from its recently announced off-portal service with Vodafone UK.

Groove Mobile is a UK mobile music platform powering the UK’s 3MusicStore and also launched the first mobile music services in the US, Sprint’s Music Store. Worldwide digital music sales marked $2 billion sales, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI)’s Digital Music Report 2007.
