Wind-Up Inks Deal with Verizon’s V-Cast Music Service
Wind-Up Records has announced that it has licensed its entire catalog to the Verizon Wireless V Cast Music service.
To date, the Verizon has inked deals with the four major labels, as well as independent music digital distributors IODA and The Orchard. A direct deal with an independent label like Wind-Up is a first, and one that gives hope to the other larger independent labels that don’t use digital aggregators but are interested in establishing their content in mobile channels.
The V Cast Music catalog consists of about 2 million tracks, sold each for $2. The Wind-Up deal also includes ringtones and ringback tones.
