Heil Sound Releases Handi Mic Pro Plus

Heil Sound has introduced the Handi Mic Pro Plus, a compact, large-diaphragm, dynamic microphone. Designed for a wide range of professional applications such as live sound, commercial broadcast, and recording, the pattern control of the Heil Handi Mic Pro Plus is achieved by selecting the materials for the large, low-mass diaphragm, with a special combination of neodymium, iron and boron. This gives the Handi Mic Pro Plus a strong magnet structure.

Special attention has also been paid to the phasing plug assembly with equally placed ports that sense audio from behind, entering them out of phase. Thus, the Handi Mic Pro Plus produces a linear cardioid pattern and reduces the proximity effect while achieving top-quality articulation. This new Heil element is usable in extreme high sound pressure levels and is reportedly immune to overload conditions.

“The Heil Handi Mic Pro Plus represents completely new dynamic microphone technology,” says Bob Heil, Heil Sound president. “It was designed for a wide range of professional applications such as live sound, commercial broadcast and sophisticated recording. Its wide-frequency range outperforms the industry standard, handheld ball microphone, and it can withstand huge amounts of SPL. The end result is a unique microphone that will be a welcome addition to any sound engineer’s bag of tricks.” The Handi Mic Pro Plus is targeted for use with drums, guitar amps and just about any tight spot where smaller microphones are needed, even in broadcast applications.

The Heil Sound Handi Mic Pro Plus costs $98. More information on the Heil Sound Handi Mic Pro Plus.
