Weekend Fun: Air Guitar Controller

Takara Tomy, a Japanese toy manufacturer, has announced the release of the Air Guitar Pro, a new device for playing air guitar.

The Air Guitar Pro controller is just the upper one third of the neck of a guitar. However, the device has infrared strings that create a virtual fretboard. You “strum” the strings to create big power chords and rock out like the bedroom Hendrix that you know you are! The controller itself has seven buttons on the front that you must click to define the scales from “G” to “A” and four buttons on the side that you can hit to identify the chords as major, minor, augmented or diminished.

The Takara Tomy Air Guitar Pro will be available this summer in Japan for ¥2625. More information on the Air Guitar Pro.
