EMI Does The Corporate Shuffle

Eric Nicoli, EMI Chief Executive Officer, has created a new International Division and announced staffing changes for the troubled label. The new International Division will oversee territories outside of the UK and North America. JF Cecillon has been appointed as Chairman and CEO of EMI Music International, and will directly oversee operations in Europe, Japan, Asia, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand. Cecillon steps into the new role role after leading EMI Music Continental Europe and will also supervise a global marketing team headed by Matthieu Lauriot-Prevost. Nicoli will directly manage EMI Music North America, as well as EMI Music UK & Ireland under its chairman and CEO, Tony Wadsworth. Following the departure of David Munns and Alain Levy, Nicoli praised Cecillon as an “ideal candidate,” and pointed to a strong track record in Continental Europe.
