Yamaha Announces New Products For NAMM

Yamaha has expanded their NAMM announcements to include the following new items. We previewed several new products yesterday including their new Motif synths, but several of the following items have piqued our interest including the “USB cables with built-in converters” which confirms an industry trend with IK Multimedia’s StealthPlug and SoundTech’s Lightsnake “sound card in a cable” products already on the market. Also of interest is the “specialized MIDI/USB controllers” (note the plural) of which applications are not specified.

MUSIC PRODUCTION: Yamaha will introduce new products by Yamaha and CME, and demonstrate how this hardware integrates with new software from Steinberg and Arturia. Products include two synthesizers: the flagship Motif XS and the smaller MM6, based on the popular MO Series. CME will introduce new hardware, including specialized MIDI/USB controllers, an expanded wireless MIDI/USB device line of products and a new series of USB cables with built-in converters.

PORTABLE KEYBOARDS: Keyboardists can now get an arranger workstation at a stunning price with the new PSR-S500, which offers professional features like great sound and large wave ROM for voices. The new PSR-E313 and PSR-E213 put unparalleled power in the hands of players and students at unheard of values. Yamaha also introduces the EZ-200 keyboard for beginners and the compact DD-65 Digital Drum Kit.

ACCESSORIES: Yamaha builds on the success of its guitar line by introducing a full line of attractive and durable Guitar Bags. With the addition of the YKA6000 Keyboard Stand and the YKB5000 Keyboard Bench, Yamaha now offers a complete line of stands and benches to complement its quality portable keyboards and digital pianos. The new MS1000 and MS5000 music stands are lightweight, yet durable.

DIGITAL PIANOS: Furthering its commitment to education, Yamaha rolls out the enhanced LC2 Plus Music Lab, which offers teachers everything they need to conduct classes with anywhere from eight to forty-eight students on any instrument that includes a headphone jack.

LIVE SOUND: The highly anticipated STAGEPAS 500, which offers easy set up and 500 watts of power, will establish the new benchmark for compact PA systems. Yamaha also introduces a brand new lineup of small format MG Mixers, engineered and built by Yamaha, which offer single-knob compression on two inputs, switch-able monitor mix routing and upgraded components.

Looks like Yamaha has been busy this past year. More information on Yamaha’s New NAMM Products.
