Warner Music Buys Roadrunner Records Majority Stake for $73.5 Million

Warner Music Group Corp., which owns Atlantic and the Warner Bros. record labels, disclosed that it will buy a 73.5 percent stake in the Roadrunner Music Group BV, which includes Roadrunner Records, for $73.5 million. The deal is expected to close in January.

Netherlands-based Roadrunner Music Group will become a freestanding label group within WMG’s Atlantic Records Group. There will be no staff changes due to the acquisition, according to WMG. Roadrunner’s artist roster includes the bands Nickelback, Slipknot and Stone Sour.
