Net Music Makers Acquires My Virtual Band

Net Music Makers, an online collaborative music website, announced the acquisition of My Virtual Band. The two sites will be consolidated and re-launched in early 2007 to create a leading social networking website with interactive musician services. The site becomes property of privately-held House of Hansen Productions, LLC, a digital music entertainment company.

My Virtual Band was co-founded by Scott Mason and Kelly Senecal, two Ph.D. students that wanted to continue playing music after graduating and taking jobs 2,000-miles apart. “We are excited to team with MVB to create a ‘first-of-its-kind’ interactive music website,” stated Jeff Tamelier, President of House of Hansen Productions and former guitarist for Tower of Power and Starship. “We formed an alliance with MVB as part of our current Battle of the Bands Contest and were blown away by the number of entries from musicians collaborating new tunes over the web. It was so successful, we bought them.”

The website will allow bands and solo artists to create personalized websites, join a band, collaborate, and mix tunes. The new site will also provide a multi-channel internet radio station to showcase original songs. NMM will also feature an internet house band, consisting of world-class studio and touring musicians that will provide downloadable, royalty-free loop tracks for use in recording, mixing, and creating original music.
