Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival Expands To 3 Days

This year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival will be a three-day event. The three dates have been confirmed: Friday, April 27, Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29. Coachella will be followed a weekend later by Goldenvoice’s first-ever country music festival: Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6. Both events will take place at theEmpire Polo Field in Indio, CA.

Thus far, line-up for the as-yet-to-be-named country festival includes George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Willie Nelson, Lucinda Williams, Sparrow Quarter featuring Bela Fleck, Emmylou Harris and Nickel Creek, among others. The artists will perform in four distinct performance areas including the main stage, an alt-country stage, a bluegrass stage and a storytelling area with Garrison Keillor, Red Steagall (the 2006 Texas Poet Laureate) and others.
