Røde Reveals Stereo Video Microphone

Røde has revealed a stereo video microphone (SVM), dubbed the Stereo VideoMic. This product, like the VideoMic (VM), reportedly offers the same sound quality and performance as its predecessor, but also meets the industry demand for stereo recording.

According to the company, the X/Y configuration enables the SVM to capture the true ambiance of the recording space, while still offering a high level of rear rejection and low noise. Fitted with a shoe mount, the SVM has the same low-noise circuit design as the VM. The SVM offers a 9V battery operation, an LED battery status indicator, a high-pass filter switch, and a -10 dB pad switch that allows the mic to be used on most cameras.
