Sarah McLachlan Announces Remix Contest
Sarah McLachlan is teaming up with Beatport and Nettwerk Music Group in a new remix contest. For the first time ever McLachlan is offering up the multi-tracks for one of her songs – “The First Noel/Mary Mary” – off of her new holiday album Wintersong released on Oct 17, 2006. Beatport and Nettwerk Music Group are making these tracks available for fans to remix, re-construct, re-edit, re-configure and have fun creating their own versions of the track. Post your remix up on the contest site and Sarah will even vote and pick her favorite, which will be released digitally on Nettwerk Music Group.
The 11 tracks from “The First Noel/Mary Mary” are 16 bit 44.1 kHz WAV files ready for re-mixing. You can purchase all 11 tracks for $5 from beatport.com, or get 4 of the tracks for free. Two of the multi-tracks are also available for free download (in MP3 format) from Sarah’s website. Contest closes November 16, 2006.
