Gnarls Barkley To Debut On MySpace, Not iTunes

In a snub to Apple’s iTunes music store, the new Gnarls Barkley album will make it’s online debut on MySpace. Gnarls Barkley, a collaboration between Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse, recently made history by becoming the first group to top the UK singles chart with a digital-only release.

Gnarls Barkley, a play on basketball star Charles Barkley, will debut their full album digitally on MySpace, by streaming their entire album exclusively on myspace.com/gnarlsbarkley for three days. It all starts this Friday, and fans will have access to the album stream until Monday. The release, which will be titled St. Elsewhere, will hit physical retailers on May 9th, not that anyone will be buying it (see below).

The Future: Virtual Recorder, WireTap and other streaming digital recorders will all be in full effect once the album hits MySpace. Within moments, the entire album will appear on Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks. And thus, Danger Mouse will come full circle.
